APC Policy Harmonisation for All Authors

The Editorial Board of the International Journal of Sub-Saharan African Research (IJSSAR) wishes to inform our prospective authors, reviewers, and other stakeholders that, in line with the journal's commitment to international best practices, a revised Article Processing Charge (APC) Policy has been approved. Effective from the September 2026 issue, the Article Processing Charge (APC) for all accepted manuscripts shall be US$100 (One Hundred United States Dollars), irrespective of the author's country of residence, nationality, or institutional affiliation. Previously, international authors paid an APC of US$100, while authors based in Nigeria paid ₦50,000. Under the new policy, the APC has been harmonised to establish a single, uniform processing charge for all contributors. This policy forms part of IJSSAR's ongoing efforts to strengthen its editorial processes, improve publication quality, and further position the journal as a globally competitive platform for scholarly communication. The harmonised APC policy reflects the journal's unwavering commitment to fairness, transparency, and excellence in academic publishing. The Editorial Board believes that this policy will foster a more equitable publishing environment in which manuscripts are evaluated, peer-reviewed, and selected solely on the basis of their scholarly merit, originality, methodological rigour, and contribution to knowledge, irrespective of the authors' nationality, race, ethnicity, institutional affiliation, or geographical location. By adopting a uniform APC, IJSSAR reaffirms its commitment to maintaining the highest standards of peer review and editorial quality while ensuring that only the most outstanding manuscripts are published. This policy also reinforces the journal's vision of promoting healthy academic competition among contributors from across the world and advancing the publication of high-impact research that addresses issues relevant to Sub-Saharan Africa and the global scholarly community. The Editorial Board appreciates the continued confidence and support of our authors, reviewers, readers, and institutional partners. We look forward to receiving more high-quality manuscripts from researchers in Nigeria, across Africa, and around the world. Please note that this revised APC policy shall apply only to manuscripts accepted for publication beginning with the September 2026 issue of the journal. Manuscripts accepted for issues published before September 2026 will be processed under the old APC policy. For more information, please visit http://www.ijssar.com Thank you!
