Religious Implications Of Rising Insecurity In Nigeria: An Evaluation

| Abstract: | Background: Insecurity in recent times has been a major challenge to the Nigeria Government in particular and the world in general. Insecurity has been a critical issue that has continued to hamper growth and development in Nigeria. The result of which is violent conflicts, disorderliness and retrogression in the country.
Objective: This study evaluates the religious Implications of rising insecurity in Nigeria. It highlights the causes of insecurity in Nigeria and also proffers solutions. Method: The method used in the study is qualitative method, through which the data were generated via internet, library and other source materials relevant to the study. Result: The findings revealed that insecurity is a global factor that prevents the ethno-religious and socio-economic growth of the country. Conclusion: Nigeria as a country is bedeviled with serious security threats. This has in one way or the other affected all sectors of the country. It is the responsibility of the government to provide a secured and safe environment for lives and property. Unique Contribution: This study has offered new insight into the religious Implications of rising insecurity in Nigeria. Hopefully, if the government rises to her responsibilities and do the necessary things like employment to the youths, provision of good governance etc, insecurity will be a forgotten story. Key Recommendation: There is the need for establishment of community policing for effective management of security of the people. Community policing will create more job opportunities for the youths within the community. |
