Objective: The objective of this article is to examine how contemporary global catastrophes correspond with divine timelines and prophetic warnings in scripture. It intends to demonstrate that the tumultuous events unfolding in the world - climate upheavals, war (as seen in Russia-Ukraine Crisis), pandemics (such as the COVID19) - were foretold in biblical prophecy and align with the last day signs described by Jesus in Mathew 24 and Luke 21. The study also sought to bridge the gap between secular projections and divine providence – offering a thoughtful theological reflection that speaks to both the severity of global threats and the hopeful context of God’s plan.
Method: The study employed a qualitative research approach, combining biblical hermeneutics, theological analysis, and thematic examination of recent global events. The procedure involved a comprehensive review of biblical texts related to eschatology and the end time; then, an analysis of recent global catastrophes, including the COVID-19 pandemic, climate change, and social unrests such as the Russian-Ukrainian war, the Israeli-Hamas war; and a thematic examination of the theological implications of these events in relation to divine timelines.
Result: The study reveals that recent global catastrophes exhibit striking parallels with biblical predictions of the end time. The findings suggest that the COVID-19 pandemic, climate change, and social unrests such as the Russian-Ukrainian war, the Israeli-Hamas war can be understood as manifestations of biblical prophecies. The increasing frequency and intensity of these events may indicate a convergence of human and divine timelines. The theological implications of these events underscore the need for spiritual preparedness and a deeper understanding of biblical eschatology.
Conclusion: This study provides a nuanced theological reflection on global catastrophes and divine timelines. The findings highlight the importance of considering biblical perspectives on the end time in the face of recent global crises.
Key Recommendation: In light of the study's findings, it is recommended that Christian communities and leaders engage in a deeper exploration of biblical eschatology and its implications for spiritual preparedness. Scholars and researchers from various disciplines collaborate to develop a more comprehensive understanding of the intersection of faith and global crises. Individuals and communities prioritise spiritual reflection, discernment, and action in response to the challenges posed by recent global catastrophes.
Unique Contribution: This study contributes to the existing body of research on biblical eschatology and global catastrophes by providing a nuanced theological reflection on the intersection of faith and global crises. It further offers a framework for understanding the relationship between recent global events and biblical predictions of the end time, and encourages a deeper exploration of biblical perspectives on the end time in the face of recent global challenges " />

Abstract:
Background: The world is currently facing unprecedented global catastrophes, including the COVID-19 pandemic, climate change, and social unrest. These events have sparked intense debate and reflection among scholars, policymakers, and the general public. In the midst of these crises, many are turning to religious texts, including the Bible, to seek guidance and understanding. The concept of the "end time" is a pervasive theme in Christian eschatology, with many believing that recent global events are fulfilling biblical prophecies. The "100 seconds to midnight" metaphor, inspired by the Doomsday Clock, serves as a reminder of the perceived proximity of the end time.
